Customize your Slack bot
Your Slack support experience should feel like an extension of your brand, not a third-party tool. Plain lets you customize your Slackbot’s name and logo, so every interaction feels familiar, professional, and on-brand.
Customizing your Slack bot
Step 1: Set your logo and public name in workspace settings
Go to Settings → General in Plain.
Upload a logo and set your public name (usually your company name).
Your logo will now appear:
In the chat widget (if no separate logo is set for the chat app)
Inside the Plain web app
In unread message email notifications
On autoresponder messages sent via Slack
Your public name will be used wherever your customers see bot messages – making it clear they’re speaking with your team.
Step 2: Change the Slack bot name (optional)
You can also rename the Slack bot directly in Slack:
In Slack, go to Configuration → Bot User
Click Edit
Update the name as needed
Note: The name set in Plain’s workspace settings takes precedence. If there's a mismatch, the Plain-configured name will be used when replying to customers.
