Understanding Credits

Credits are the unit Plain uses to measure Sidekick usage across your workspace. Credits give you full visibility into how your team is using Sidekick, without any surprises.

How credits are included in your plan:

Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over.

If your workspace needs more credits than your plan includes, you can purchase additional credits as an add-on.

What uses credits?

Sidekick Sidekick is your in-thread AI assistant. A conversation with Sidekick can have multiple prompts and consumes 50 credits. When you move to another thread, your next prompt will start a new conversation.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I run out of credits? Sidekick will be paused until your credits reset at the start of the next billing cycle, or until you add more. Your team can continue to use the rest of Plain normally, only Sidekick features will be affected.

Can I purchase more credits mid-cycle? Yes. Contact your account team or email support@plain.com and we can top up your credits on demand.

Do credits roll over? No. Credits reset monthly and do not carry over to the next cycle.
